Cornelia Kietzman - I think it was the Quaker activities during my teenage
years, and also the peer counseling groups I was a part of which opened my
eyes to the
subtle anti-child aspects of our culture. Something in me took children’s
issues into my core, and there they remain, connected to almost everything I
do. I love running camp, am impressed with every camper I’ve come to
know, and look forward to interactions with parents, (always fun, and often
poignant.)
I was an education major at Tufts University, transferred to Bryn Mawr College
and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. I taught at Abington Friends for
3 years, The Philadelphia Community School (preschool) for 4 years, and coached
Field Hockey and Lacrosse at several local schools. I’ve worked part-time
for the last 12 years so that I could be home with my children.
Kim Levin has worked at Camp Outlaw for 3 summers now- and she is a favorite
( and it’s not just the cars she drives or the music
she listens to!) Kim is a natural with children- even pre-teens. She is fun,
silly,
physically strong
and calm. She teaches at Greene Street Friends when she’s not at camp.
Kate Zippin is back for her 3rd summer at Camp Outlaw, full of energy and
not letting her knee surgery get her down. Kate is an excellent player, especially
in water. She’s reliable, energetic, and not afraid to sing. She’s
great. Kate attends Germantown Friends.
Megan Kietzman-Nicklin is an original member of the Outlaws, and this is her
2nd summer working as staff. Megan gets to know everyone quickly and has a keen
ability to put someone (yes, me, sometimes) in their place and still be friends.
Megan is the person to read aloud interesting books on car trips
to and from
our field trip destinations.
