Trips
- Devil’s Pool- in the Wissahickon woods, walking distance from Camp
Outlaw headquarters. Great secluded pool, deep enough to jump off the
surrounding rock
ledges into the cool water. Skipping stones abound too, and we sometimes
get a chance to try bouldering at Livesy Rock on our way home.
- Logan Cirlce- take the train or drive downtown to the circle and play
in the fountains- it’s so fun to climb on those great big sculptures, and of course
play chase (staff is “it”)
- Frazer Zoo- really just a pet store, but puppies you can play with and just a
lot of other animals. Good stopping place on our way to Stoltzfus Farm- an organic
Amish farm out in Paradise, PA. 60 minute drive.
- Brandywine River- flooooaaat slowly down on tubes we spend a lot of energy blowing
up. Beautiful, fun, relaxing time. Plus the best rope swing up high in a tree
leaning out over the water. Huck Finn style. 45 minute drive.
- Rock Quest/ Kid Quest- indoor playground and climbing room, great for chase games.

- Westtown Lake- canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming. 45 minute drive.
- Westtown ropes course- one of the best ropes courses anywhere, great staff, and
the lake is just down the lane afterwards. 45 minute drive.
- Swarthmore College- the famous “monkey tree” where we play
monkeys and jaguars all over the tree, eat lunch, and then climb around
on various
sculptures on the campus. Then hike down to Crumb Creek for a swim. 30
minute drive.
- Snipes Farm- my son Ari’s grandfather’s farm- miniature golf, driving
range, horseback riding, berry picking, swimming. It’s great. 60
minutes drive.
- Wharton Esherick Museum- an entire house made by hand- every inch is
amazingly beautiful and interesting. 60 minutes drive.
- Allens Lane Playground- playground equipment and tennis courts, good place to
stop on our way down into the woods. 10 minute walk.
- Rancocas River- New Jersey Pine Barrens area. Float down the ice-tea colored
cold river on tubes, cool and fun. Nearby playground. 45 minutes drive.
- Pine Barrens State Park- same cold dark water, float down around the bend, jump
off onto the beach and run across the peninsula to do it all again. 60 minutes
drive.
- Jersey Shore- Just south of Atlantic Cityh. Hang out at the beach together- always
fun.
